Planned ranking principles
Ranking should help families understand options without hiding commercial influence.
LookupCare's public directory is in development, so no live ranking is available today. These principles describe the commitments that should guide ranking and sorting when those features launch, not a current algorithm or performance claim.
Evidence and fit should remain separate from commercial status.
A provider's commercial relationship with LookupCare should not silently determine how evidence or fit is presented. If paid visibility is introduced, it should be clearly identified and kept distinct from ordinary directory ranking or filtering.
LookupCare will not use undisclosed pay-to-rank placement. The public methodology and any material commercial influence will be disclosed when ranking launches.
Families should be able to understand the result order.
- Use clear labels for the active sort or filter.
- Explain the main factors that affect result order in plain language.
- Keep source freshness and important unknowns visible where they affect interpretation.
- Avoid implying that a high position is a guarantee, endorsement, or substitute for family review.
- Publish and update the methodology when ranking becomes available.
Ranking cannot answer every care question.
No single order can determine which setting or provider is right for a particular person. Families may need to review official records, tour options, compare written costs and services, and consult qualified professionals about individual needs.
Some details, including current availability and person-specific care fit, require direct confirmation. LookupCare will not present those details as live until they can be supported responsibly.
